Conflict Transformation

One thing is certain: no-one among your team members, managers and leaders will always behave the way you want them to.

Perspectives will clash. Emotions will run high. Stress and overwhelm will get the best of us. Despite good intentions, we sometimes cause unintended harm.

The result is mistrust, animosity, and disconnection. Vicious cycles of unresolved conflict result in relationship breakdown and, sometimes, workplace-trauma. Ample research shows that the stress caused by tension with our co-workers and managers negatively impacts engagement and productivity more than any other factor, and drastically reduces the quality of our livelihood. But within the crisis lies a seed of opportunity.

The discord, if harnessed skillfully, can be a fertilizer for growth. We can increase our understanding of one another, restore relationships, deepen the connection and find new ways to collaborate. To achieve this, we bring our expertise in conscious communication to ensure respectful dialogue and mutual understanding. We create a space for a free-flow of ideas so that everyone feels heard, acknowledged and appreciated.

What does it take to cultivate the emotional acumen to arrive at the place where "I" end and "you" begin more gracefully? Two things. First, we must be willing to suspend our judgment just enough to humanize the person standing in front of us, paying close attention to their needs and values, even if they are quite different than ours. Second, we must learn how to speak our truth authentically yet constructively, holding each other in the cradle of our shared humanity.

When we come together this way a new field of opportunities emerges.

Conflict transformation means each of us will come out of this process changed in some way: we will learn new things about each other, grow from past experiences and create new possibilities together. It is a social technology that promotes our individual and collective evolution.

Trust, safety and belonging form the bedrock of connected, innovative work culture. Therefore, the capacity to transmute conflict into opportunity is your organization's most essential toolkit. We are here to guide you every step of the way.
